Overview
The Lion and Safari Park as well as the Cradle of Humankind both have a deep and interesting history, which you may learn about during a tour. To get the day off to a thrilling and adventurous start, go on an open-air vehicle safari through the lion enclosure that lasts for one hour. Observe these majestic beasts as they move about freely in their natural habitat while you get up close and personal with them.
At the Five Dome Shopping Center, you can find one-of-a-kind mementos to take back with you. Look through a wide selection of items, such as African artwork and handicrafts made in the area.
Leave Lion Park and make your way to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Cradle of Humankind Johannesburg at the Sterkfontein Caves. Exploring the depths of the underground caves allows one to learn about the extensive history of the area, which includes the discovery of fossils of some of the first hominids. Take a tour of the Sterkfontein Caves with a knowledgeable guide for an hour to gain insight into the evolution of humans and see the spectacular natural formations. Take a refreshing meal break for lunch before continuing on your journey so that you can refuel your energy reserves. Visit the Maropeng Interactive Exhibition Center to gain more knowledge about the history of the surrounding area. Lion and Safari Park Tour
You will be picked up from your hotel or location of choice. Our first stop will be the Lion Reserve, where you will experience an open vehicle drive through the Lion, Wild Dog, and Cheetah enclosures. These animals are sometimes very difficult to see in the wild, and this gives you a fantastic opportunity to see them up close. There is also a well-stocked curio shop for you to enjoy.
Maropeng exhibition centre
After the Lion Reserve, we will head on over to Maropeng, which is situated within the Cradle of Humanity. an area of 47,000 hectares. Depending on the time, we will have lunch at Maropeng, after which you will visit the Maropeng Exhibition Center, which is world class. This center showcases evolution as well as the four elements necessary to sustain life. You will also enjoy an underground boat ride.
Sterkfontein caves tour
Our last stop for the day will be the Sterkfontein Caves. Here, you will journey through the caves for one hour with a highly trained guide that will answer all your questions. After you resurface, you will be taken safely back to your hotel.
